Types of Iran Tourist Visas

There are two ways to apply for an Iranian tourist visa: the electronic visa (eVisa) and the visa on arrival.

Citizens with passports from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, Mauritania, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and Belarus can stay in Iran for up to 15 days (non-extendable) without a visa. Additionally, it is not possible for citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Bangladesh, Colombia, Jordan, and India to obtain a visa on arrival in Iran.

Electronic Visa (eVisa)

The electronic visa (eVisa) can be requested and received online. There is no need to visit the embassy or consulate in person to obtain an Iranian eVisa. Simply contact our experts at Fly17 to guide you through the process of applying, completing, and submitting your visa application and required documents. All documents are submitted online, and the Iranian eVisa will be sent to the applicant as a PDF file. Please note that it is essential to carry a printed copy of the eVisa when traveling to Iran.

Iran Visa on Arrival

A visa on arrival (also known as the entry visa) is available to citizens of over 180 countries. It can be issued in either printed form or as a PDF file at Iran’s international airports. However, obtaining this type of visa depends on specific rules and conditions, which are influenced by the diplomatic relations between Iran and the applicant’s home country.

Reasons for Iran Visa Rejection

Visa applications may be rejected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for various reasons, including security concerns, immigration violations, criminal activity, submission of fraudulent documents, or other similar issues. It is recommended to carefully prepare all documents and comply with Iran’s travel regulations before submitting your application.

Iran Tourist Visa Extension

A request for extending an Iranian tourist visa must be submitted 1 to 3 days before the visa expires, through a visit to the Foreign Nationals Police Office. Once the Foreign Nationals Police approves the extension and the visa extension fee is paid, the applicant may stay in Iran for a longer period.
